As a wedding photographer in Reims, I do photograph weddings but also engagement and proposal. I love the rush of photographing a proposal ! When Parker reached out to me to ask me to photograph his proposal at Champagne Taittinger I was thrilled !
He had his whole idea planned to propose in Reims in the caves of a champagne house. He and his now fiancee both share a love for wine and champagne and a trip to Reims was the perfect setting for the perfect proposal. They went on a tour of the caves of Taittinger. I was hiding at the end of the tour with my camera and was waiting for them. I did not want to spoil the surprise so I had to be very discreet. When they arrived at the end of the tour, the tour guide asked if anyone had any announcements. Parker went down on one knee and everyone was taking pictures of him and Katie was not facing him so she wondered why everyone was taking pictures. When she turned around and faced him she was in shock. It was a beautiful and emotional moment. She said YES !
And after a champagne tasting we went and took engagement pictures of them. She was still not believing that he just proposed. It was an amazing experience for me also to be able to capture such a magical moment for them. Photographing a proposal is a very special moment and I love the tension just before the question and to see them so happy afterwards is a very beautiful thing for a wedding photographer.
